La Lampara is a light source that evokes an ancient fishing method and is the chosen name for a restaurant of excellence in Ischia. The setting and the scenery are unique and blend with the original creations that characterize the cuisine of Ciro Calise, full of verve and authenticity.

A dreamer chef and a visionary owner, Ciro has created a maritime and elegant location, in harmony with the international calling of the island. He has conceived unmistakable dishes, including exotic variations of tradition and genuine flavors, fresh, lively that celebrate the love for his extraordinary land.

Ciro was 13 years old when he began to dream. He performed small tasks at the restaurant Bella Napoli and was enchanted by Neapolitan cuisine.

That enlightenment marked a courageous career in continuous growth, traveling around the world and oriented towards the allure of luxury and five stars.

It was punctuated by professional achievements in St. Moritz, from the Etoile Sottomarina School in Chioggia, and finally, by a full immersion in Thailand that left amusing oriental traces in the recipes.

After spending many years away from home, Ciro returned to face an unprecedented challenge, alongside his wife Anna: to relaunch the historic Giardini Eden in the Cartaromana bay. The mission was accomplished with considerable success and facilitated the leap into a new thrilling dimension, the “La Lampara” project.

The sea is the absolute protagonist of the menu. It is a coherent choice with the open kitchen, facing the romantic terrace that mirrors the coastline. The flavorful journey is surprising: among the Sea Urchins of the Castle fished from the rocks, or the Cantabrian Sea Anchovies, appears the freshly caught Pelagic Amberjack by local fishermen or the rare Balik Salmon, while the Red Tuna of the Mediterranean finds company with a Southern Gulf of Procida Snapper.

The meticulous selection of natural products, among which spices and aromatic herbs grown in the nearby volcanic gardens stand out, is tied to the continuous training of Ciro’s team. La Lampara has no secrets and is a reference point for those in Ischia looking for a pleasant, welcoming, luxurious experience.
